Hydrostatic testing involves testing a component or vessel with a liquid (usually water) and pressurising it until the test pressure is attained. The test is complete once the pressure is attained; however, for other tests, hydrostatic pressure must be maintained for a set period of time. Depending on the application, hydro testing can be used to detect leaks, structural integrity, manufacturing faults, wear, corrosion, and burst pressure.
